About New York Friends Meetup Group

What are we all about? Well..if you've ever moved to a new city, a new country...heck..even a new neighborhood, it's extremely hard to make new friends sometimes.

I know a lot of people who are from other countries (China, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, UK, Germany, etc.) and they all agree that when they moved here, they moved here without really knowing anyone.

I also know a lot of busy people. So busy that they've started to lose contact with the rest of the world. Not many friends and the friends they did have have gone and gotten married, had children and so..what was once an abundant list of friends is now a short list of people you used to know.

When my best friend of 25 years past away from Sickle Cell Anemia in 2001, it left me with a gaping hole. Years later, because of work and moving around, I'm still searching for good people to know and socialize with.

So...NYFriendz...is about making friends. Not just having someone to have a drink with(although, that's always fun too!), but genuinely building friendships.

If you are new to NYC and want to start making friends, then I think you owe it to yourself to join us.
If you are a busy professional who wants to start finally adding a social life to your schedule, you can join us and start having fun again!

Some of the activities planned will include a Japanese/English Exchange event once every two weeks,
Afterwork Drinks & Wings once a week, Film Festivals & Screenings, A Night out at the Club, Museum events, etc.

I welcome suggestions for events and activities! I encourage people to become actively involved and also let us know what's new with you!
