Hey, friends! Who doesn't love a wine tasting? Especially a free one.
This tasting will last about an hour and will include, in addition to the wine, the usual cheese & cracker suspects. Chances are good that the winemaker himself will be on hand to guide us through the tasting, which should be pretty cool. Afterwards, those who are interested can go to lunch.
Here's a little info on the winery from their website:
"Balistreri Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery dedicated to making high quality wine. The winery was licensed in 1998 and we released our first vintage in February of 2000. We are a small winery producing 4500 cases per year. Our wines are primarily made with vinifera varietal grapes purchased from growers in the Grand Valley Viticultural Area located in Western Colorado. Select wines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Muscat are produced with grapes from our own Denver Vineyard. We also source some varieties not available in Colorado from the Central Valley of California.
"Our winemaker John Balistreri has been making wine for more than three decades for family and friends. His wines are made completely natural, with a very approachable easy drinking style. He combines both traditional wine-making methods and modern technology to produce award winning wines. His wines are hand-crafted, one barrel at a time, with grapes that are fermented on their own yeast, unaltered by sulfites, unfiltered, and aged in American oak."
