Networking is a common practice in most churches. Making meaningful connections is an important aspect of community. Common Ground wants to encourage relationships within community. And, at the same time, it intends to maintain safe sanctuary free of solicitation.
Common Ground defines solicitation as uninvited conduct in which an individual advances, urges, persists or otherwise attempts to persuade others to adopt his or her views, purchase products or services, or in any way uses individuals in the spiritual community to advance a personal agenda, personal gain or personal profit.
CONSCIOUS COMMERCE
To meet the needs of individuals in the spiritual community who want to take advantage of networking opportunities, Common Ground will host a "Business Fair' during the third weekend of every month. This will be the time for people to transparently offer services, products, opportunities, and programs, to those who are interested. This idea is designed to foster commerce within the community as well as maintain deep regard for safe sanctuary.
The Business Fair will be held the weekend of June 21 & 22 before and after services. Those who are part of the spiritual community are invited to host a portion of the fair table by bringing literature, samples, and business cards; and by being available to answer questions and to discuss their area of interest. Those who make sales are invited to tithe to Common Ground.
