About The Utica Area Friends Meetup

The Central New York area actually has a lot to offer; especially the Utica area, believe it or not. There are a lot of nice people, and there is a reason that people stay and raise their families here. It is a basically nice place to live. No matter where you live, you have to make your own happiness. I am a firm believer that this area truly has some unique and wonderful offerings. I am, by no means, an expert. But I would like to share my love of this area through a variety of interesting and fun things to do. We will start out with Monday night poker nights at our home, and in the homes of our friends. It is a friendly environment where we play poker and we sometimes teach people to play poker. It is not a money maker at all, rather it is a casual game where the winner takes the pot. We would also like to arrange summer picnics at area parks and beaches, day trip excursions, dinner and a movie, concerts, festivals, and a variety of other activities. This group will not be rigidly structured, and we plan to have a lot of fun. However, we do ask that we maintain a certain level of courtesy - an rsvp is required to attend events - just showing up or OR NOT SHOWING UP is not acceptable. It is simply not a nice thing to do, and yes, you are inconveniencing someone. Also, we ask that everyone is nice to everyone else...I know, I know, a little corny, but this is a social group, and it should be FUN, not full of drama.
